Koran Casserole
Koran casserole is the oldest and most beloved dish of our city — a recipe passed down through generations of families in Pogradec. Slowly cooked in a traditional clay dish with onions, fresh vegetables, and local herbs, it preserves the rich and authentic flavor of the lake’s fish.
This dish has earned its place in history: the Pogradec tradition of preparing Koran was once enjoyed even by Queen Elizabeth II, who especially appreciated fish from our lake. At our restaurant, we prepare this casserole just as our grandmothers once did — with patience, love, and deep respect for tradition.

Grilled Koran
Koran is a true treasure of nature — an endemic species and one of the oldest fish in the world, found only in the waters of Lake Ohrid, one of the oldest lakes on Earth, formed millions of years ago. With its distinctive red spots and tender, delicate meat, it is known as the “king of the lake’s fish.”
Grilled over charcoal with a touch of olive oil, lemon, and fresh herbs, Koran reveals a unique flavor unlike any other fish. An experience you can enjoy only here, by the lakeside where this rare fish has lived for thousands of years.
